Dr. Jason Hiser was born and raised in the mountains of Western Maryland, where he also
earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Frostburg State University in 2001. He
earned his DVM from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in
2006.
Dr. Hiser spent the first 12 years of his professional career caring for
pets in Richmond as an Associate Veterinarian at Broad Street Veterinary Hospital before
opening Hiser Mobile Veterinary Service in 2019. After spending 2 years making home
visits to see his patients, he opened Scott’s Addition Animal Hospital in March of 2021.
Dr. Hiser enjoys building long term relationships with his patients as well as their
owners. His professional interests include preventative medicine, surgery, dermatology,
as well as pain management.
He and his wife have two sons, a very patient Golden
Retriever named Linus, an aquarium full of fish, and two horses. In his free time Dr.
Hiser enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, gardening, and exploring the
outdoors.
Dr. Jane Hiser is a Richmond native and received her undergraduate degree in biology
from the University of Virginia. She graduated from the Virgnia-Maryland Regional
College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She has been serving companion animals in the
west end of Richmond sincer her graduation. Dr. Hiser is also a canine certified rehab
practitioner and received her degree from the University of Tennessee in 2009. Dr.
Hiser's other veterinary interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and wellness
care.
When Dr. Hiser is not working at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with
her family which includes her two sons and her dog Linus. You can also find her at the
barn riding her horse whenever possible. She also loves spending as much time as she can
in the outer banks.
Dr. Sara de Wet joins our hospital after many years working for state and federal public health agencies. She obtained her MPH from the University of Kentucky and her DVM from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Her clinical interests include feline medicine, dentistry, and pain management. She loves spending time educating and connecting with clients and their patients. Outside the clinic Sara enjoys pilates, walking, reading, and is trying hard to like gardening.
Karen has been working in the veterinary profession for over 25 years. She graduated from
Central Carolina Community College in Veterinary Technology in 1997.
Over the
years, she has worked in numerous veterinary hospitals including emergency medicine and
general practice. When she is not busy at work, she enjoys spending time with her dog
Norman and painting.
Lindsay grew up in Powhatan and has been in the pet care field since 2005. She has been
working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2013 when she graduated from Blue
Ridge with an AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.
When she’s not working, she
enjoys spending time with family and friends, riding four wheelers, traveling and hiking
with her dog Cash.
Ashley was born and raised in Virginia Beach. She received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Radford University, her associates degree and license in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College, and her Master's degree in public health from the University of Missouri. Ashley has worked in day clinics, emergency and specialty practices and even at a Chimpanzee sanctuary!In her free time Ashley enjoys trail running, yoga, hiking, and spending time with her husband and their many rescue animals.
Suzanne has been working as an LVT since her training was completed in 2015 at the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College. She has lived and worked in many different places, including general practice in Chicago and Philadelphia, dentistry in Denver, and specialty surgery in Seattle. Her focused interests in the veterinary field include anesthesia, dentistry, fear free care, and helping make the nuance of complicated veterinary care accesible to pet owners. When not at work, she enjoys bird watching and identification, video and board games, pottery, reading, baking, hiking, and exploring with her family, husband, and very opinionated cat.
Lisa grew up in Chesterfield County. She’s been working in veterinary medicine since 2001. She has worked as a licensed veterinary technician since 2014 when she obtained an AAS degree in veterinary technology from Blue Ridge college.When not working she enjoys swimming, nature and spending time with family, friends and her animals.
John Ferguson, married, father of two. He has been in this field since 1987.

lover. Nickname is ferg, feel free to call him that.
Katelyn has worked as an assistant in the veterinary field since 2012. She has her
associate of science degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds and is currently in school to
become a veterinary technician.
Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys reading, drawing,
and spending time camping and kayaking with friends, family, and the family dog,
Pickles.
Brittany has worked as a Veterinary Assistant for several years. She knew at a very young
age she wanted to work with animals. She was even on a cattle working team with her 4-H
club.
When not at work Brittany enjoys spending time with family, friends and her
beagle mix, Layla. She also enjoys camping and riding ATV's in the mountains.
Lara has been in the animal field for almost 9 years and as a vet assistant for 6. In her free time Lara enjoys playing softball, reading, watching football (Go Dawgs!) or just hanging out with her pup, cats and ferret.
Meghan is new to the veterinary field after a decade in food service, but has loved animals all her life, growing up around dogs, cats and horses.
